Speed that changes your daily routine

Thanks to Low Force Display™ and 60 collimated LEDs, the Form 4B prints up to four times faster than its predecessor, the Form 3B+. Print time stays almost the same whether you print a single part or a fully loaded build platform – models, splints and guides are often ready to use the same day.

Record-fast

11 aligner models in 9 minutes, surgical guides and splints in under an hour.

Biocompatible and sterilizable

15 biocompatible Formlabs materials, including the BioMed series and numerous dental resins, for parts with patient contact.

Precise across the entire platform

95 % of the surface lies within 50 µm of the CAD model – consistently across the entire build platform.

Smooth surfaces

50 µm pixel size with anti-aliasing, low peel forces and easily removable supports.

Open material system

In addition to validated Formlabs resins, Open Material Mode lets you use third-party materials.

Reliable and monitored

98.7 % print success in independent testing, six sensor systems, an integrated camera and remote monitoring via Dashboard.

Medical

Models and tools directly at the point of care

Hospitals and medical device companies use the Form 4B to produce patient-specific parts on site – from anatomical planning models to sterilizable instruments.

  • Anatomical models for surgical planning and patient communication
  • Orthopedic cutting and drilling guides
  • Surgical instruments and prototypes for medical devices
  • Sterilizable, biocompatible BioMed materials
  • Anatomical pelvis in 3.5 instead of almost 15 hours (Form 3B+)

Dental

More cases per day in practice and lab

Whether dental practice, dental lab or orthodontics: the Form 4B produces models, splints and guides so quickly that patients often need fewer appointments.

  • 11 aligner models in 9 minutes
  • 12 surgical guides in 48 minutes
  • Splints, dentures, temporary and permanent restorations
  • Integration with 3Shape, exocad, Medit and DSD
  • Learn it in 15 minutes

Accuracy you can rely on

Measured with Precision Model Resin

For restorative models, 99.7 % of the surface lies within 100 µm and 95 % within 50 µm of the CAD model. Crowns fit precisely, and implant analogs can be screwed directly into the model.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Form 4 and the Form 4B?

The Form 4B is based on the Form 4 but designed for healthcare: only the Form 4B supports the biocompatible Formlabs materials and validated workflows for medical and dental, and it can be combined with the Medical or Dental Service Plan.

Which biocompatible materials can I use?

The Form 4B supports 15 biocompatible Formlabs materials, for example BioMed Clear, BioMed Amber, BioMed Durable, Surgical Guide Resin, Dental LT Clear and Premium Teeth Resin. Open Material Mode also lets you use third-party resins.

Can printed parts be sterilized?

Yes. Parts made from sterilizable materials such as BioMed Clear, BioMed Amber or Surgical Guide Resin can be sterilized according to the manufacturer’s instructions, for example in an autoclave. The exact methods are listed in each material’s data sheet.

How fast does the Form 4B print?

Up to four times faster than the Form 3B+. Examples: 11 aligner models in 9 minutes, 12 surgical guides in 48 minutes, an anatomical pelvis in about 3.5 hours.

Is the Form 4B compatible with my dental software?

Yes. The Form 4B works with 3Shape, exocad, Medit and DSD. PreForm automatically turns scan data into print-ready models.

What do I need for post-processing?

For a complete workflow, we recommend Form Wash for automated cleaning and Form Cure for post-curing. We are happy to help you put together the right setup.

Form 4B or Form 4BL – which one is right for me?

The Form 4B is compact and ideal for practices, labs and hospitals. The Form 4BL has more than four times the build volume (35.3 × 19.6 × 35 cm) and is suited to large anatomical models or high volumes.
